All About Me
Scientifically proven, modern, reward based training.

I’m Katie and I am the founder of Positive Paws Dog Training. For as long as I can remember, I have always had a passion for dogs. I was fortunate enough to be able to have a change of career in 2013 and I completed my City and Guilds Level 2 and 3 as a dog groomer. It was during this training that we had an introduction to canine behaviour, which was fascinating. The methods that we were taught to use whilst grooming were force free and reward based. I set my dog grooming business up and this proved to be very successful. And, some of my more tricky canine clients were won round by using reward based training, how satisfying this was!
With my own dogs I have trained extensively with general obedience, trick training, heal work to music and agility. I have also had the privilege of working as assistant trainer for a fun dog agility class and have been assistant during puppy and older dog training classes.
Now, I’d like to share my knowledge of canine behaviour with my clients and have the satisfaction of watching their individual unique team of dog and human flourish. To enhance my skills I have trained professionally with the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT), and have completed a Level 3 OCN Certificate in Canine Learning, Motivation and Reinforcement as well as being up to date with Canine First Aid Level 2.
I am able to offer a variety of classes that will cater for all your training needs. No matter what service you book, you’re guaranteed to learn everything there is to know about raising a respectful and problem-free dog.
